Close to home, Cyanotype on fabric, October 2023 

For this exhibition I experimented with depth and tone of cyanotype prints on cotton. Here I used photographs of the birch forest next to my family home to create negatives to print with. I played with layering and continuous lines to create a taller work, but was limited by the exhibition space. An interplay of vibrant to shadowy hues emulated that of the site and looking up at a forests canopy. The presentation of this work felt too conformed and linear, therefore as the work developed I wanted to move towards more dimensional works. The work was however successful in revealing natural monumnents that felt 'close to home' and an interesting personal starting point for which the work would expand.
