Memories Intertwine, mixed media sculpture, March 2024.

Creating a sculpture using fallen branches collected from a specific site on the university grounds was inspired by an investigation into art and ecologies. The engaging process of weaving branches into a cohesive form explored the material capability and highlighted intricate relationships found in nature whereby each branch contributed to the sculptures overall shape and texture. The act of gathering from a particular location (The Harris Gardens) that has its own histories imbues the sculpture with a sense of place that’s held within its structure. Furthermore incorporating prints added another layer through textural contrast and dialogue between materials.
