Outdoor Dialectic, Cyanotype prints installed outside, December 2023.

This series derived from research into Smithson’s expressions of a dialectic between site and non-site, in which I explore a cyclic process of returning printed fabrics installed in the gallery space to the site of the subject within the works. I installed these in three particular sites that I live close to and were part of original photographs used in the making of the prints. Here I explore a new setting and form for the fabrics, where they become embedded with the natural world. The striking blue pallet works as an interesting dynamic in the space and against landscape features. These works felt successful in fostering a deeper connection with sites and surroundings.
